I want to be a nurse practitioner as my career when I get older. I'm taking Health Careers II right now to get my CNA and I'm taking anatomy and physiology to help me with health careers because they link together. The reason I'm taking those classes is because I love working with people and helping them. I work with my mom right now at Clinical Cardiovascular Associates in Shawnee. I pull faxes that are prescriptions or important information for the nurses and find that patients' chart and give it to the nurses. I also call patients to confirm appointments for the next day, and help out with little projects they have around the office, mostly keeping the office organized. I enjoy working there because I love being around the health care environment and i have learned a lot of things that help me in anatomy and physiology.
I chose to hyperlink nurse practitioner because when you click on nurse practitioner it takes you to a website that gives you a description of a nurse practitioner and tells you some background information on the jobs duties in the health care profession.
A nurse practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse (RN) who has completed advanced education (a minimum of a master's degree) and training in the diagnosis and management of common medical conditions, including chronic illnesses. Nurse practitioners provide a broad range of health care services. They provide some of the same care provided by physicians and maintain close working relationships with physicians. An NP can serve as a patient's regular health care provider.
